Over 900 entries for the 2014 Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) 2014 were submitted by deadline of the event on February 16, 2015.

Pili Mtambalike, the Regulation and Standards Manager of the Media Council, the partner of the EJAT organizing Committee has expressed optimism that the entries slightly increase as compared to entries submitted for EJAT 2013.

She said that the sorting exercise placing the entries into specific categories is currently going on and that the exact number of all entries would be known on completion of the tedious task.

The contest has 21 categories and the gala night where winners would be awarded trophies and prizes is April 24, 2015.
