With almost a month left before the Excellence in Journalism Tanzania (EJAT 2014) gala night slated for April 24,2015, preparations for the event are on high tempo.

Members of the EJAT organizing Committee met on March 24, 2015 and discussed on the type of prizes to be given to winners and resolved to work on the budget.

They also endorsed the judges for the event whose names will be disclosed later.

The meeting presided by the committee’s chairperson, the Executive Secretary of the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), Kajubi Mukajanga picked a sub-committee to prepare proposals on the event’s budget.

This is sixth edition of EJAT where Journalists, photographers, cartoonists and radio presenters are awarded for outstanding performance since the first EJAT in 2009.

Over 900 entries have been submitted to vie prizes for EJAT 2014.

The organizing committee will be meeting once every week to finalize the preparations of the event which is held each year.

MCT is the lead partner of EJAT. Other members include Media Institute of Southern Africa – Tanzania chapter, MISA- Tan, Sports Writers Association of Tanzania (TASWA), Tanzania Editors Forum (TEF), Journalists Association against Aids (AJAAT), Tanzania Media Women Association (TAMWA), and Evidence for Action, Tanzania Science Journalists Association (TASJA), Tanzania Chamber of Minerals (TCME), Agriculture Non-State Actors Forum (ANSAF) and Media Owners Association of Tanzania (MOAT).

Others are Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA), Haki Elimu, Sikika, AMREF and Best AC.

I asked that because it is not namall as past events. This year you are too silent.
You don't mention how much medias has submitt their works and also feed back to the journalists who send their works to you if you have receive or not.

I mean the names of journalist who will contest on Ejat 2014
