Sixteen media practitioners and trainers attend a two-day workshop of training of trainers on Reporting
Children organized by the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT).
A statement by the Executive Secretary of MCT, Kajubi Mukajanga said the objective of the Council in organizing such courses which started on June 1, 2012 is to promote the development of the media profession by undertaking various activities including training a pool of experts who could be used to train journalists on thematic issues.
The participants of the workshop drawn from media outlets and journalism training institutions are Gowin Gondwe – media trainer: Aisha Dachi – TBC Taifa, Nyaronyo Kicheere Media trainer;Ebely Rugema = Tumaini University:Benda Msimba- Habari Leo:Jackson Kalindimye – Nipashe;Darius Mkiza – Tumaini university and Rose Mwalongo – Free lance journalist.
Others are David Palangyo – Media Trainer, Balinagwe Mwambungu- The African; Lilian Timbuka – Uhuru;Agnes Shija – Tumaini University,Margareth Sembeyu – The Citizen;Ramadhani Makame –Zanzibar Leo, Jasadi A. Bungala Zanzibar Legal Services Centre; Mohamed Mzee –Government Press.
Twelve other journalists attended a trainers of trainers workshop on Reporting people with Disabilities on May 28 and 29.
