The Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) is participating in a three-day exhibition on high education, science and technology at the Diamond Jubilee Hall in Dare s Salaam which started on May 21, 2014.

The MCT’s Executive Secretary Kajubi Mukajanga said the Council is producing a lot of knowledge products in terms of books, journals, research reports and teaching guidelines.

“The Council is one of the biggest publishers in knowledge products in a year”, he said.

These products are used in journalism training institutes to universities; Mukajanga said adding that they are used for training at various levels from certificate, diploma to degree.

He said it was decided that among the things to be implemented by the Council in this year’s work plan, was to exhibit the knowledge products so that lecturers, tutors and students get to know about them.

The move is also aimed at publicizing the Council’s Information Resource Centres which are in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

Mukajanga who spent the first day at the MCT pavilion said it was visited by many people and they were very excited.

Some of the publications are sold at reduced prices and others are distributed free.

He said the Council will from now participate in the exhibition.

This year’s exhibition is the 9th and its theme is: Leveraging national development through higher education, science, technology and innovation.
