MCT Information Resource Centre (IRC)

The media council of Tanzania Information Resource Centre (IRC) is the centre for journalists, editors, policy makers and researchers on media. It promotes and increasing the understandings by providing relevant resources which shall provide knowledge and analytical skills of journalists and editors in the media industry. It contains material relating to research methodology, local and international journals, research reports, training material, workshop papers, reports and publications by various institutions of Tanzania and texts relating to specific topics such as Freedom of Expression, Media Laws and Ethics, Journalism and Mass communication, resource issues, governance, children’s rights, etc. Materials are available in printed and electronic format.
Membership is free and open to all members of the public. Our IRC is used by researchers, academics, students, representatives from other Institutions and the media practitioners. There is no borrowing service; the printed material can only be read at the MCT Information Resource Centre.
MCT through its IRC welcomes all the citizens to access information materials in its IRC

Opening Hours. The IRC is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 17:00.
