MCT is sorting out 2020 EJAT entries

Programme Officer of the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT), Paul Mallimbo, is sorting out entries submitted for the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) 2020.

The Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) has started to sort out entries submitted for the 2020 Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT).

EJAT Coordinator, Paul Mallimbo, has said that in the process journalists who are vying for the awards are informed that their entries have been received by phone or through sms.

Mallimbo said this time around EJAT has attracted many as reflected by the entries which have been submitted by journalists reporting for local and international media.

He also said even veterans have been attracted and submitted entries.

Meanwhile a master class for over 50 journalists and editors will be held in Dar es Salaam on March 4 and 5, 2021 in Dar es Salaam to raise the capacity for journalists to improve entries submitted for EJAT.

The training organized by MCT is sponsored by Human Development Initiative Fund (HDIF).

HDIF had sponsored the human development category in EJAT 2019.

Master classes were held in the past but later the Council ran specific in-house training depending on the training needs of media outlets.
