EJAT 2023 launched in Dodoma

The Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) for 2023 has been launched in Dodoma city on November 15, 2023.

This is the second time for EJAT to be launched outside Dar es Salaam. On November 8, 2022 the inauguration of the awards was held in Bukoba.

This year the awards have two new categories – Reporting on Social Security Funds and Reporting on early up-bringing of children and will have 18 categories in total.

The chairperson of EJAT Organising Committee, Kajubi Mukajanga graced the launching of the competition whose objective is to award media practitioners for outstanding performance.

Following the launch, Journalists reporting for newspapers, radio, television and online outlets can immediately proceed to submit entries vying for awards in the various categories. The deadline for submitting entries is January 31, 2024.

The Lifetime Achievement in Journalism Awards (LAJA) will also be awarded. This will be the eighth time for this award to be bestowed.

EJAT gala will be held on July 27, 2024 at a hall to be announced later.
