TIC Committed to support EJAT

TIC Committed to support EJAT

The Tanzania Investment Center (TIC) has affirmed to support the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT) so as to promote Excellence Journalism.
TIC made the affirmation during a courtesy meeting held between TIC and the Media Council of Tanzania (MCT) on Friday September 4, 2024 at TIC offices located at Golden Jubilee tower in Dar es Salaam
“We as an investment center in Tanzania we understand the importance of media industry especially in attracting local and foreign investors, so we also have a responsibility to support journalists by collaborating with MCT”, said Pendo Gondwe, the TIC Public relations Manager.
Pendo further said that they have an internal discussion and process to see possibility of even signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MCT so as to expand their cooperation in supporting the EJAT editions.
On the part of the Executive Secretary of MCT, Ernest Sungura, he said that the EJAT awards have been held every year with the aim of ensuring that writers and their organizations become the catalyst for preparing quality articles and ethics.
We are also grateful and appreciate the management of TIC because they have promised us to continue supporting EJAT. MCT and its organizing committee are looking at how we will improve these awards for next year but starting this year we have come up with an award magazines “Jarida la TUZO” and “TUZO Magazine”
Sungura added that, “ the sponsors will be promoted in the magazines according to sponsorship packages they have selected, for example one can have two pages color advertorial and CSR content produced by the best journalists and edited by the best editors in “digitized and distributed online and few physical copies”
The MCT Executive Secretary also presented a certificate of appreciation to TIC Executive Director, Gilead Teri.
TIC was one of the sponsors for EJAT 2023 held on September 28, 2024 at Diamond Jubilee Hall where by 72 journalists were awarded trophy, certificates and money.
Other sponsors who supported EJAT 2023 includes Public Service Social Security Fund (PSSSF), Marie Stopes Tanzania, Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), Zanzibar Revenue Authority (ZRA), Bunge, Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC), Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority Consumer Consultative Council, (EWURA CCC) and Zanzibar Airport Authority (ZAA),.
Others are Legal and Human Right Center (LHRC), Shirika la Magazeti ya Serikali -Zanzibar, Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA), The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), National Housing Corporation (NHC), Pentagon Insurance Brokers, Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HELSB), Union of Tanzania Press clubs (UTPC), Weights and Measures Agency (WMA), Taifa Gas, Azam Media, Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), Presh Stationers and Hanjos Treading Company.
